  • Atlas Shrugged is both a celebration of business and a defense of it against widespread attacks. Judging from the novel, as well as from Ayn Rand’s essay “What Is Capitalism?” and her speech “America’s Persecuted Minority: Big Business,” why does she think business should be defended and championed? What does she think is a proper defense of business, and why?
  • Ragnar Danneskjöld says he loves that which has rarely been loved, namely, human ability. What do you think he means? How does his position relate to the idea: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need”? Do you agree or disagree with Ragnar’s attitude? Explain.

DRP Legal is organizing its 4th online essay writing competitionDRP Legal is a non Profitable Student Welfare and Legal Firm.

Theme of the Competition

“Cyber terrorism”

Eligibility Criteria and Rules for the Competition

The competition is open to all undergraduate law students and postgraduate law students pursuing Master of Laws or an equivalent masters degree in law.

Registration Fee

250 Rs. per participant.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions are to be made in electronic form only and are to be sent to Email id
  • The essay must contain an abstract, not exceeding 300 words, laying down clearly the topic covered and tentative conclusions.
  • The Essay should not be more than 3000 words exclusive of abstract and footnotes.
  • No hard copy submissions are required.
  • Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted. Registration of co-authors is also mandatory.
  • Participants must submit an original and unpublished paper written in English.
  • The cover page should include Name, Address, e-mail id, Contact number and name of the College/University along with address and class of the Participant.

Formatting Guidelines

  • The Submissions are to be made in Times New Roman,
  • Font Size (headings): 16,
  • Font Size: 12
  • Line spacing: 1.5,
  • Footnote size: 10.

Deadline

The last date for submission and registration for the competition is 15th June.

Droit Penale: Indian Essay Writing Competition on Crime and Criminology

Droit Penale: Indian Law Journal on Crime and Criminology is pleased to announce the essay writing competition organized under the name of IECC: Indian Essay writing competition on crime and criminology.

The competition aims to provide students all over the nation pursuing law (3 year, 5 year and L.L.M) a platform to share their views on the topic Crime and Criminology in an Essay format with an appropriate title.

The author is free to choose his or her sub-theme for the same as according to his or her Interest.

Authors are invited to address questions and issues arising from the specific area relating to their topic.

All types of manuscripts, from socio-legal to legal technical to comparative, will be considered for the same.

  • The winners of the competition will be awarded with monetary prize, Certificate and printed copy of the book.
  • The selected Essays will be published in in the form of an edited book with an ISBN number.
  • All the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate.

Submission Guidelines

  • The footnotes should be in Calibri, font size 10 and in single size spacing
  • The Harvard blue book, 19th edition is to be adhered to for citations
  • The essay should be an original content of the author and not published in any publication or being considered for the same.
  • The submission will undergo a blind peer-review process, therefore the author shall not disclose his identity anywhere in the body of the manuscript
  • The Editorial board holds the power to disqualify any author’s work which is in non-compliance to these guidelines and also retains complete discretion over acceptance/rejection of manuscripts.

Symbiosis law school, Hyderabad is conducting an essay writing Competition on the Theme   ” Emerging Trends in Intellectual Property Law”.

This essay writing competition intends to encourage research on the contemporary and emerging issues in the field of Intellectual Property Law.

Any Student enrolled in a 5 year integrated undergraduate Law program or a 3 year LL.B program recognized by the Bar Council of India can participate.

The guidelines for the submission are:

  • The Essay should be submitted in MS Word format with 1.5 line spacing for the main text, and should be minimum 1500 words not exceeding more than 2000 words (excluding footnotes).
  • Font type should be Times New Roman with 12 pt. for the text.
  • The Essay must be coupled with a separate document attached containing the information of the Author and Co-Author (if any):
  • Full name, Current year of study, Phone Number and E-mail Id of the author
  • Name, Phone number and address of the Law School/ University
  • All submissions must be original and bonafide work of the participants and should not be submitted for any other competition or for any other purpose.
  • The Participants are required to scan a copy of the Bonafide Certificate or an Identity card duly issued by their respective Law School/ University to the mail ID along with the essay.
  • Co-authorship is allowed upto two members. Single author entries are also eligible.
  • Original views are strongly encouraged than excessive citations of published public information.

Legal Discussion is organizing its 2nd online essay writing competition on 23rd March “Shaheed Diwas”. The theme related to the competition is  “Capitalism Is Killing Democracy”. 

The competition is open to all undergraduate law students pursuing any bachelor degree and postgraduate law students pursuing Master of Laws or an equivalent masters degree in law.

ABOUT Prof.H.N. TRIPATHI

Professor Harihar Nath Tripathi was born in a small village, Belcha, in the District – Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. He carried M.A. (Political Science) and Sanskrit Acharya both from BHU.  Prof. Tripathi has been recipient of many distinguished awards.

  • Motilal Nehru Award for his work Sanghwadi given by Uttar Pradesh Sahitya Academy.
  • Govind Vallabh Pant Award given by Uttar Pradesh Sahitya Academy for his work Prachin Bharat Mein Rajya aur Nyayapallika,
  • Ganga Nath Jha Award given by Uttar Pradesh Sahitya Academy for his work Bhartiya Vichardarshanam,
  • Banbhatt Award given by Uttar Pradesh Sahitya Academy for his work Niti Vidhi Vimarshaha.

Prof. Tripathi had in his credit innumerable articles, books published in the different languages, like Sanskrit, Hindi and English. His popular academic works being published and widely recognized are Bharatiya Vichardhara, Prachin Bharat Mein Rajya aur Nyayapallika, Prachin Bharat Mein paradh aur Dand, Bhartiya Vichardarshanam, Niti Vidhi Vimarshaha, Property Rights to Women in Ancient India, etc.

He always thought about a harmonious construction between Vedic ideology and modern tradition for the sake of society because society always renovates itself with time but new generation ought not unaware of our roots.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The essay must be written in English.
  • Co-authorship (maximum of two authors) is permitted. However, only one entry is allowed per author.
  • Only original essays will be considered for the competition. No part of it should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication or a contest elsewhere. Moreover any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of essay. No part of the essay, except the cover page, should contain any identification of author.
  • There is no registration fee for essay competition.

All submissions must adhere to the following requirements:

Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5, Footnote Font Size: 10, Footnote Spacing: 1.0, Alignment Justified

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

  • The submission shall consist of an abstract, essay and scanned copy of University/Institution’s Identity Card or filled registration form. An abstract should not be more than 300 words inclusive of title and keywords.
  • The essay should not be more than 4000 words (excluding footnotes and abstract).
  • Citations must be strictly in accordance with the Harvard Blue Book style (19th ed.)
  • Registration form is to be sent along with the essay.
  • All the manuscript are to be mailed at hntfoundation17@gmail.com by 10th March 2017 in word (doc or .docx) file format with the subject titled as ‘TITLE OF ESSAY: NAME OF AUTHOR(S) & INSTITUTION’.
